Kya Aapke Stano Se Reesav ho Raha Hai?
Why is my breasts leaking?
During the first few weeks after the birth of a baby, it is quite common for a new mother to leak from her breasts or to have breastmilk sprayed. Leakage from your breasts can occur in the following ways:
- Often in the morning, when your breasts are most full.
- From one breast only, every time during lactation.
- With both breasts, when you are not breastfeeding, this includes night time.
Leaking from the breasts can be troublesome for you, but it is actually a good sign. This means that your body is making a lot of breast milk for your baby. Leakage from your breasts occurs when they are so full of milk that milk begins to overflow them (overflow) or when the oxytocin hormone causes the muscle cells in your breasts to drain (the letdown reflex).
At certain times, breasts may leak, such as:
- When you are feeding your baby with one breast, it may leak from the other breast.
- Whenever you hear your baby cry or just think about your baby.
- When you are taking a bath or in a warm room where the heater is running. This is because the warmth helps the milk to flow more easily.
How long will the milk leak from the breasts continue?
Every woman is different, but the most likely leak will remain during the first few weeks of breastfeeding. The body also takes time to settle according to how the baby is breastfeeding.
Many mothers find that the leakage from their breasts stops between six and 10 weeks after they start breastfeeding. At the same time some mothers say that as long as they continue to breastfeed , this leakage continues.
Can milk leakage from the breasts be prevented?
There is no sure way to prevent leakage from the breasts. Breastfeeding on a regular basis and not much difference between feeds from one feed to another may help. The more you breastfeed, the lower the chances of leakage from the breasts.
Breastfeeding in a different state see at which stage the baby is able to correctly take the breast into the mouth. When the method of breastfeeding is decided according to both you and your baby, the leak will also stop.
You cannot control the flow of your milk, but you can prepare for it in advance:
- Wear breast pads inside the bra. When they get wet, replace them so that pain in the nipples can be avoided. If you want to go out somewhere, keep this breast tree with you.
- When you are breastfeeding, apply a cloth, breast pad, or breast shell inside your bra when you leak from the other breast.
- Wear different patterned or printed tops or kurtis so that milk spots are not visible. If you are out all day, take extra bras and tops with you. The sari’s pallu or dupatta can also be used to hide milk stains. You can cover yourself with a jacket, swatter or shawl if it is winter and there is a leakage from the breasts.
